2. When and where was Indigo Perfumery founded?
The shop was founded in 2013 in Cleveland by fragrance connoisseur Ann Bouterse.
3. Where is your physical gallery located?
Our fragrance gallery is located in Lakewood, Ohio.
4. What makes your fragrance collection unique?
We curate high-quality, extraordinary scents, including exclusive lines like the new Meo Fusciuni fragrances. We also prioritize natural and sustainably sourced perfumes.

5. Do you offer natural and sustainable perfumes?
Yes. Indigo Perfumery offers a wide range of natural perfume lines for customers seeking sustainably sourced fragrances.
6. What ingredients are used in your natural perfumes?
Our natural perfumers use high-quality ingredients derived from nature, such as resins, roots, flowers, woods, and bark.
7. How natural are the perfumes in your collection?
In addition to our dedicated natural lines, we carry numerous collections where the perfumes consist of 90% or more natural ingredients.
Sampling Program
8. What is the Indigo Perfumery Sampler Set?
The Sampler Set allows customers to experience how a fragrance interacts with their specific skin chemistry before committing to a full-sized bottle.
9. What size are the perfume samples?
Samples consist of 1 ml of perfume, hand-poured into either 2 ml or 3 ml glass spray vials.
10. Are the samples authentic?
Yes. Every sample is prepared by hand using the actual, original perfume from the perfumer.
11. Is there a limit on how many samples I can order?
Customers are limited to two samples of each specific perfume per order.
12. How long does it take to process a sample order?
Because each sample is prepared to order, requests for more than six samples may take 4-5 business days to fulfill.
13. Can I return or get free shipping on samples?
No. Samples are not eligible for return, nor are they eligible for free shipping.
Subscription & Interactive Clubs
14. What is the SCENTED subscription club?
SCENTED is an interactive monthly club for perfume enthusiasts. Members receive curated samples, discounts on full bottles, and opportunities to win original perfumes.
15. What is included in a SCENTED shipment?
Each shipment typically includes three samples:
- A 2 ml spray of a new or unusual perfume.
- An anonymous "Scents Unwrapped" sample for a guessing contest.
- A 1 ml "bonus" sample of a perfume the Indigo team loves.
16. How does the "Scents Unwrapped" contest work?
Members receive a spray sample of an anonymous perfume with no label or ingredient list. If you correctly identify the perfume by the deadline, you can win a full original bottle of that scent.
17. How much does the SCENTED membership cost?
Membership is $18 for a single month (including ground shipping) or $80 for six "edits" sent every other month.
Shipping & Store Policies
18. Where does Indigo Perfumery ship?
We currently ship exclusively within the United States, including Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico.
19. What is your policy on lost or stolen packages?
Indigo Perfumery is not responsible for lost or stolen packages once the carrier confirms delivery. We recommend choosing a secure delivery address, as we cannot refund or replace these orders.
Workshops & Events
20. Do you offer fragrance workshops?
Yes. We host monthly "Mix Your Own Scent" workshops and themed Perfume Workshops where participants explore raw ingredients and learn about the art of scent. These are typically held on Thursday evenings from 6–8 pm at our Lakewood gallery.
