Chypre is the name of a family of perfumes that are characterised by an accord composed of fresh, citrus top notes, a dash of floral sweetness in the heart and a mossy, woody or herbaceous base.

The number one identifying factor of a Chypre fragrance is the predominantly green bouquet; although a Chypre may contain floral notes, it is not a floral perfume.
