Escale en Haiti by Les Indémodables at Indigo Perfumery
ESCALE EN HAITI … a stopover in the region of les Cayes where the famous Vetiver is cultivated. A « Grand Cru » labeled Vetiver extract has been used in high dosage in this Cologne.
An aside from Les Indémodables-
"The best quality vetiver oil in the world is for sure the one from les Cayes in Haiti. In line with our high quality requirements, we have developed with our local partner a unique « Grand Cru » grade, which has the following features : ✦ a specific terroir selected by our partner, ✦ an in-depth root cleaning before extraction, ✦ the choice to distill at atmospheric pressure, which is slower and more expensive, but provides a richer and more long-lasting extract."
Top Notes: Pink pepper berry extract CO2 (Reunion Island), Juniper berry (Macedonia)
Heart Note: Special GRAND CRU Vetiver oil (22%) (Haiti)
Base Notes: Tonka bean absolute (Venezuela), Myrrh essential oil (Somalia)
Perfumer: Florence Fouillet Dubois
Family: Citrus Chypre
Escale en Haiti is 97% natural.
A background view on Eau de Colognes:
L’eau de Cologne was created in 1709 by J.M. Farina, the name of which comes from the city where it was first produced. Its nickname was « admirable water », and the original formula is composed of a blend of distillation waters from different plants, called hydrolat, and a few pure essential oils, all mixed together with pure alcohol.
The Cologne is less concentrated -which makes it more light, fresh and subtle than a usual perfume. Perfect for summer days!
