The Gold Queen by Dawn Spencer Hurwitz x CaFleureBon for its 15th Anniversary
In collaboration with Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief of CaFleureBon
"As I began creating The Gold Queen, a specific painting emerged from Klimt’s repertoire that kept speaking to us artistically: Judith and the Head of Holofernes. Its biblical referencing of a strong and seductive heroine who saves her city by seducing then beheading a besieging army commander, as well as the imagery itself (with the gilded silhouette of fruit trees), was to our minds a perfect fit to express the energy of The Gold Queen. She is beautiful, luscious, and powerful."
The Gold Queen: A striking and original fruity floral chypre perfume...fit for a Byzantine Queen. The Gold Queen is inspired by the work of Gustav Klimt and his famous painting "Judith and the Head of Holofernes".
The Gold Queen opens with a rarely used 'golden raisin' accord made all the more radiant by notes of yellow peach, and golden apple. The heart is a luxurious mix of saffron, yellow roses, orange blossom, jasmine, and a 'gilded leather' accord. All these adorn the sensuous base of opoponax, golden sandalwood, and suede.
